Montenegro makes progress on minority rights legislation

A recent report explains how the Balkan state will address ethnic diversity in the political arena.

Montenegro, the most recent state to join the United Nations (2006) is facing new challenges in politics due to its considerable ethnic diversity: Croats, Roma and Bosniaks are the main minority communities in the country. US-based 'Project on Ethnic Relations' has released a report [pdf] on "Developing a Minority Policy for Montenegro” summarizing the conclusions drawn from a roundtable discussion held on 14-15 December 2007 in Podgorica, Montenegro.
