Degree of autonomy
The Aosta Valley is one of the Italian autonomous regions with a special statute, alongside Trentino-Alto Adige, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Sicily and Sardinia. Its devolved powers include control over the economy, agriculture and environment, town and country planning, education and culture.

Comments
Out of all the Italian autonomous regions, the Aosta Valley has shown the greatest interest in the collective rights of stateless peoples. The Government most recently gave its support by hosting the Conference of European Stateless Nations (CONSEU) on 12-13 October 2007 in Saint-Vincent.
