Occitan-language TV programmes are set to be broadcasted on line for four hours per day as new TV channel ÒcTele is ready to be launched on December 20th. It will be the first online TV to broadcast all of its content in Occitan. According to Lo Blòg Occitan, programmes will include news, cartoons and entertainment.

ÒcTele has financial support from the regions of Aquitaine and Midi-Pyrénées and from several Occitan departments. Lionel Buannic -who is also the founder of Breton-speaking online TV Brezhoweb- is heading the project. In an interview to Sud-Ouest France, Buannic said last September that broadcasts will be mainly aimed at a young audience.

On it launching day, ÒcTele will be broadcasting from the Aquitaine Regional Council in Bordeaux. However, the TV headquarters will be located in Lescar, a town in Bearn (north-western side of the Pyrenees).

Although the TV has not yet been launched, some short programme pieces can be watched on ÒcTele Facebook page.
