Talks between Kosovo and Serbia may begin this year

The two countries are likely to discuss on decentralization, cultural heritage and the North Kosovo issue

Date: From 05/04/2010 to 05/11/2010
Type: Politics and institutions

BalkanInsight.com issued this morning a leak published by BBC in Albania regarding probable talks between Kosovo and Serbia. The unprecedented negotiations might deal with crucial aspects such as decentralization of Kosovo -particularly in the northern area where most of the Serbian population live-, cultural heritage and other technical issues.

According to diplomatic sources, both Pristina and Belgrade could be waiting for the International Court of Justice to declare in summer on the validity of Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence.
